Moalboal

The Municipality of Moalboal is located approximately 89.5 kilometers on southwest side of Cebu City . According to legend, Moalboal got its name from bubbling spring near the seashore. Locals of the area have circulated stories about a Spaniard asking natives what is the name of the place was. Thinking that they were asked about the bubbling spring, the natives answered “bokal-bokal”, which mean spring in the local dialect.

Despite its proximity to Cebu city, Moalboal has retained a unique charm and relaxed atmosphere that has endeared to local and foreign tourists especially those who love nature. Beach resorts, dive spots and orchid farms abound the area, making Moalboal the ideal getaway from the busy city life.
