How to get to Moalboal? Moalboal is only 2-2½ hours journey from Cebu International Airport - once at the airport we can arrange a private pickup or we can assist you in your public transfer. Do I need visas? Visitors from most Western Countries including Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand are granted a 21-day stay on arrival. Other nationals are required to produce a tourist visa and should contact your local Philippine consulate for more details. If you intend staying more than 21 days sometimes it might be better to get a 59-day visa in your home countrybefore arrival. Next to the peso, the US dollar enjoys wide acceptance. Most foreign currencies can easily be changed at banks, hotels and authorized dealers. Foreign currency is not readily taken by the establishments in Cebu . Major foreign credit cards may be accepted only at major hotels, resorts, shops and restaurants. Visitors are advised to bring sufficient amount of change in small bills or coins. Paying US Dollar / Peso cash are preferred (obviously and the best way!). We accept other major currencies as payment; please check with us before you arrive. Business Hours Banks – 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday; Government agencies and offices – 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday; Private firms – 9am to 12nn Saturday; shops – 9am to 7pm Monday to Saturday. Most department stores stay open on Sundays and holidays. Tipping Bellhops expect a tip, as do waiters, taxi drivers, hairdressers, beauticians and porters. Most hotels and restaurants add a 10% service charge on top of the government tax. Tipping 5-15% of the bill is appropriate if no service charge is included. Therefore, a few tips how to come to Cebu City . How to get to Cebu Island There are many ways to come to Cebu . The first, and the easiest, is by direct flight. Cebu International Airport is served by various airlines like Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong, SilkAir (Singapore Airlines) from Singapore , Malaysian Airlines from Kuala Lumpur and Qatar Airways from Doha/Singapore. The alternative is to fly to Manila and take a domestic flight or a ferry to Cebu. From the capital city flights to Cebu are offered several times a day. The boat trip takes about 20 hours, but cruising on a luxury liner through the Philippine archipelago is an adventure in itself. Arrived at Cebu City you got different possibilities to transfer to Moalboal. We arrange the direct transfer for you. Or, if you would like to come on your own, you can reach Moalbaol either via Taxi or Bus. For organized transfer please inform us early enough and we will organize the direct transfer to Kasai Village for you. All you have to do is come to Cebu City . You will be picked up at the airport in or the harbor by our staff and brought directly to Kasai Village Beach Resort. Hint! Public Transport Getting around Cebu, one may take a colourful jeepney or a bus at a minimal fare. Tricycles (motorcycles with sidecars) are popular in outlaying areas and in suburbs, quiet notably within Mactan Island. . Taxicabs are widely available. Health and Medicine No malaria in the area, but inoculations for Hep A, Typhoid, Polio and Tetanus are recommended, always check with your doctor. Bring high factor sun creams and insect repellent if you are prone to that type of thing, It's a rare occasion that you will need to put on more than shorts and a t-shirt. |
