1. Ronda Bay This divesite is good for beginners and for those who want to find unusual marinelife. The dive starts with a sandy slope from 3 to 20 meters and can be continued alongside a wall starting at 20m going down to 40m. On the sand you will find garden eels, small anemones and lots of small nudiebranchs. This site is good for macro. Type: Slope and wall dive 2. Marine Sanctuary On of the first sanctuarys in the area. This dive site has been on the recovery since 10 years. The coral is not the main attraction here but the fishes really likes the place. Here you will find big Napoleon wrasses, the Pickhandle barracuda, shoals of Jacks, lots of Anthias and more. 3. Copton Point Also called Airplane Point due to the wreck of a small two seated Lancair that was sunk here in the 90s by Moalboal diving association. This dive offers a lot, Mantis shrimps, Boxershrimps, Spotted garden eels, Turtles and the Pygmy seahorse. On the shallow part of the site you will find lots of Clownfish. 4. Fishfeeding One our personal favourites in the area. As the name implies this was before a place where you could feed the fish. We don´t do that anymore but the fish here is still “hungry” and will get really close to you. The site is filled with shoals of Red tooth triggerfish , Damselfish, Bannerfish, Spaghetti garden eels and if you´re lucky the small cleanerfish will “clean” your fingers for you. 5. Whitebeach Right outside the beautiful sandy Whitebeach you will find this walldive. The corals on the north part of the dive site is in very good shape. On the top reef you will find big table coral, staghorn and lots of small fish. Turtles often roam the site. Shoals of the Pickhandle barracudas is often seen near the surface. 6. Dolphin House Regardless of the name there is very seldom dolphins in this site, in our opinion the dive site should instead be called Turtle house due to the many Turtles that is seen here. The south part of the dive is filled with softcoral and here is where the Turtles eat and sometimes rest on in the small caves alongside the wall.In the north part there is canyons, cracks and overhangs that makes the dive exciting. 7. Tuble A divesite with lots of macro marine life in the cracks in the wall. The best diving depth here is around 15- 20 meters . Near the surface you often see big Garfish swimming around. The closeness of Kasai village makes this site good for late afternoon dives. 8. Kasai Wall Our housereef that is frequently visited by other dive operators because it´s a really good dive. Turtles ,Barracudas, Angelfish, Butterflyfish and the occasional Whaleshark is seen here. The wall consist of small caves, overhangs and cracks running all the way from the top of the reef until 40m On the nightdives the wall is transforming to a paradise for shrimps, crabs and other nightliving creatures. 9. Panagsama Reef As the name implies this site is just outside Panagsama beach walk. Years of throwing anchors has not been kind to the reef and the coral is not what it once was. A new law has been passed that makes anchor throwing illegal in the area and that will surely help the recovery of this dive site. Still you see beautiful things here and it´s a good site for beginners. 10. Talisay Wall This site offers a lot of different things. There is almost always Shaded batfish around the mouringline when you descend. Around 20 to 25m you will find the Elephant ear coral scattered along the walls and plateaus of this site. On the shallow parts near the southern buoy there is a couple of Mandarinfish hiding in the staghorn coral. If you dive here late afternoon the chance of seeing them is high. 11. Tongo Point Cracks, ravines, small caves and some swimthroughs is what makes this dive interesting. Along the wall there are some big Branching corals with shoals of Razorfish hanging around them. Turtles are frequently seen here. 12. Sampaguita Wall, sandy slopes and plateaus makes this dive varied. On the sandy parts of the reef there is lots of the Goby and the shrimp working together to build their home. This site is almost always sheltered from the wind and that makes it a nice and relaxing dive. PESCADOR ISLAND DIVESITES Pescador is what put Moalboal on the diving map and for a good reason, this island rocks! 13. Cathedral Cave On the Northwest side of the island there is a “chimney” starting at 37meters and exiting at 22m and at 18-15m. the Frogfish is common here as well as shoals of big Midnight snappers. Alongside the wall there is lots of overhangs where you can see various kinds of fishlife, like the Lionfish, Clownfish and Pufferfishes. 14. Pescador West This side is often called THE walldive. You start from the shallow part in the south and make your way down the wall on the west side. Along the way towards the Northwest bouy you sometimes encounter shoals of the great barracuda, whitetip reef sharks, midnight snappers, flutemouths and shoals of snappers. There is something good to see at 3meters as well as in 40m. Sometimes the current can be strong here, but almost always in the direction that you are diving, that means that the driftdiving here is awesome. 15. Pescador East If you dive here in the morning you are in for a treat. The topography here is great. The dive starts with a wall and continues with a sandy slope filled with coralblocks where you can find moray eels ,octopus, four different kinds of clownfish next to each other. Shoals of the Boers batfish and the shoaling bannerfish and sometimes the Whitetip reef shark. At the end of the dive there is a enormous Barrelspunge at 15 meters that shows you the exit point. In the shallow part near the buoy we often see turtles resting. 16. Balabagon This site we use when you are all “dived up” on wall dives. Here you will find sandy slopes with coral blocks scattered all over. Sometimes you can find sleeping turtles here and there is almost always a couple of different nudie branchs around. Sea snakes and sea cucumbers are frequently seen. This is a good site for beginners due to the sandy parts. 17. Badian Island Walldive that starts at only 1m at lowtide and goes down to approximately 28meters. All along the wall there is plateaus with seafans and branchingcorals attached to them. There is an enormous Frogfish hanging around, and a big shoal of snappers is roaming the site. There is no buoys here because this site is not part of Moalboal so when diving here, we use a surfacemarker to let the boat know where we are. 18. Lambug Beach The beach outside Lambug is really nice, unfortunately the reef here is not as good as in Moalboal. But… It´s not the coral you want from this site it´s the shoals of sardines that reside here. When youré in the middle of it you really feel like you are one of them. Nudiebranchs sometimes seen in “groups” and on the surface you sometimes see Dolphins. 19. Sunken Island “A current swept seamount with incredible marine life.” This site is one of the best in the area. The top of the “island” starts at 22m and goes down to more than 100m. On the top you will find big shoals of Fusilias chased by Jacks, big Lionfish , Moray eels, redtooth triggerfish, Shoaling bannerfish and much more.. There can be fierce current present and it is no place for beginners. |
