Dive sites
2. Marine Sanctuary
One of the first sanctuaries in the area.
The main attraction here are the gigantic Sea Fans found at a depth below 20-25 meters. Among the fans you can find a lot of Lionfish and if you are lucky a Long-nose Hawkfish.
The fish really like the place and you can come across shoals of fish like Jacks, Surgeonfish, Anthias and Pickhandle Barracudas. Sometimes you can see the big Napoleon Wrasses.
The current here can sometimes be hard at the top of the reef.

3. Copton Point
Here, on a sandy plateau, at 20-23 metres depth, lies a small airplane waiting for your discovery! It was an old post transporter and was put here as a dive attraction in 1993.
There is a mooring buoy right by the planes tail for a direct descent. A descent can also be done along the sandy slope from the top of the reef.
The airplane is home to some Shrimps and in the sand around it Garden Eels are looking out of their holes.
After the visit to the plane a lot is left to be discovered along the sandy slope - Mantis shrimps, Turtles, Pygmy Seahorses and Big Sea Fans. On the shallow part, between all the Staghorn corals and Table corals, you will find lots of Anenome Fish and beautiful Batfish.

4. Fish Feeding
This is one of our personal favourite spots in the area. As the name implies this was before a place where you could feed the fish. We don’t do that anymore but the fish here is still “hungry” and will get really close to you. The guide will show you were the fishfeeding area is, at a depth of 20-23 m, and if you sit down and grab some sand they will come to you. The sand in this spot is also home to huge groups of Spaghettis Garden Eels.
The site is filled with shoals of Red Tooth Triggerfish, Damselfish, Bannerfish, Lionfish, Anenomeish and if you’re lucky the small Cleanerfish will “clean” your fingers for you.
Sometimes the current can be strong in this dive site.

5. White Beach
Right outside the beautiful sandy White beach you will find this wall dive. The corals on the north part of the dive site are in very good shape. On the top reef you will find big table corals, staghorns and lots of small fish. Turtles often roam the site and shoals of the Pickhandle barracudas are often seen near the surface.
Make sure you have a look in all the different anenomes covering the site. Besides all the anenomefish, you can also find small shrimps and Porcelain Crabs living among the stinging tentacles.
The White Beach, as you can tell from it's name, is covered with a lot of sand. This is thanks to all the Parrotfish which you can see a lot of in many different colour variations. Also the sand is home to the couple Goby and the shrimp, two different species that share a special bond living their lives together in the same hole.

6. Dolphin House
Regardless of the name there are very seldom dolphins in this site. In our opinion the dive site should instead be called Turtle House due to the many Turtles that are seen here. Most of the Turtles in the area are Green Turtles which can grow to weigh almost half a ton.
The site is home to big shoals of Anthias and is filled with soft corals, especially pink leafy ones, and here is where the Turtles eat alongside the wall. Make sure you have a look in the different holes where you are likely to find a turtle having a nap.
You are also likely to see Parrotfish, Catfish and if you have luck Squids can appear.

7. Tuble point
One of the marine sanctuaries in the area that is now on the recovery and a huge number of Turtles have made the site their home.
A dive site with lots of macro marine life in the cracks in the wall. Don't miss checking out the very special vertical wall cuts and canyons.
Near the surface you often see big Garfish swimming around. The closeness of Kasai village makes this site good for late afternoon boat dives and you can dive all the way to the house reef.

8. Kasai Wall
On our house reef you will find a lot of different stuff. Everything from small Damselfishes to big Green Turtles and also both soft and hard corals. At the top of the reef in Staghorn corals you can find the colourful and shy Mandarinfish.
The reef is very famous in Moalboal so you often see lots of visiting boat. Barracudas, Angelfish, Butterflyfish, Lionfish, Hawkfish, Nudibranch, Pygmy Seahorse, Ornate Ghost Pipefish, Batfish, yea, everything you can imagine can appear and if you are lucky you might even see a Whale Shark.
In the beginning of the dive there's a sandy area where you can spend some minutes looking at all the small fishes. The wall consist of small caves, impressing overhangs at a depth of about 25 m and cracks running all the way from the top of the reef until 40 m. It’s a good idea to bring a dive light when you go here because in the small caves you can see a very beautiful fish called the Comet, which has a pattern resembling the night sky.
On the nightdives the wall is transformed to a paradise for Shrimps, Crabs and other nightliving creatures.

9. Panagsama Reef
As the name implies this site is just outside the Panagsama beach walk. Years of throwing anchors have not been kind to the reef and the coral is not what it once was. A new law has been passed that makes anchor throwing illegal in the area and that will surely help the recovery of this dive site. Still you see beautiful things here and it’s a good site for beginners.
The dive starts with a steep slope going down to 40 m and you will see small caves along the wall. You can see the special Twin spotted Gobies, poisonous Scorpion fishes, Moray Eels and lots of Turtles.
If you are lucky you will see thousands of Sardines in a shoal being hunted by the Tunas and the Jacks.

The dive is along a steep wall going down to endless depths. Cracks, ravines, small caves and some swimthrough caves are what make this dive really interesting and exciting. A lot of different fish live inside the caves so be sure to bring a dive light to have a look.
Along the wall there are also some big Branching corals with shoals of Razorfish hanging out around them. Turtles are also frequently seen here.

In the small caves you can look for the Cometfish and the Moray Eels that will be hiding between the cracks. Look out for lots of big Groupers, different types of Triggerfish and huge shoals of Barracudas.
If you are lucky you can find the very tiny Pygmy Seahorse living on the branches small Sea Fans.
This site is almost always sheltered from the wind which makes it a nice and relaxing dive.

PESCADOR ISLAND DIVESITES
Pescador is what put Moalboal on the diving map and for a good reason, this island Rocks!
13. Cathedral Cave
On the Northwest side of the island, right below the mooring line, there is a “chimney” starting at 37meters and exiting at 22 m and 15-18 m. Entering the cave and looking out you will see what is claimed to resemble the Phantom himself - the holes make out the eyes and the mouth! To get the most out of this site it should be dived in the afternoon so that light enters the cave.
The Frogfish is common here as well as shoals of big Midnight Snappers, Barracudas, Tunas and Jacks. Along the wall there are lots of overhangs where you can see various kinds of fishlife, like the Lionfish, Clownfish and Pufferfish.
Sometimes there can be current present.
Openwater divers can also enjoy the top of the Cathedral

If you dive here, especially early in the morning, you are in for a real treat! The topography here is great! You start from the shallow plateau part in the south where you have a good chance to see Frogfish, Moray Eels and Seasnakes. You then swim over the drop-off and descend along the steep wall, filled with soft corals, which goes down to hundreds of metres of depth.
In the middle of the dive there is a large sandy slope which is home to Moray eels, Octopuses and four different kinds of Anenomefish next to each other.
Make sure to look down below you with big chances to see Whitetip Reef Sharks crusing by in the deep. Greater possibility to see these sharks are in the night when they come out to hunt. Don't miss a nightdive at Pescador Island!
The current can be strong here and sometimes unpredictable for inexperienced divers.

15. Pescador west
This side is often called THE walldive and is considered by many to be one of the best dive sites in the Philippines. You will start the dive at the plateau in the south and along the steep wall you will be in the middle of huge shoals of fish darting around to avoid predators like the Great Barracuda and Jacks. You will see Midnight Snappers, Flutemouths, Shoals of Snappers and heaps more.
If you are lucky you will see a giant Frogfish hanging out on a sponge along the wall waiting patiently for a victim to swim close enough to be swallowed whole.
In the middle of the dive you can visit a small cave where the Comet fish hide in the dark and you can see plenty of the Yellow Trumpetfish.
Sometimes the current can be strong here, but almost always in the direction that you are diving. This means that the driftdiving here is awesome!

Sometimes you can find sleeping Turtles here and there is almost always a couple of different Nudibranchs around. Sea snakes and Sea Cucumbers are frequently seen. This is a good site for beginners due to the sandy parts.

17. Badian Island
Walldive that starts at only 1 m at low tide and goes down to approximately 28 meters. All along the wall there are plateaus with Sea Fans and Branching corals attached to them. There is an enormous Frogfish hanging around, and a big shoal of Snappers is roaming the site. There are no buoys here because this site is not part of Moalboal - so when diving here we use a surface marker buoy to let the boat know where we are.

The beach outside Lambug is really nice; unfortunately the reef here is not as good as in Moalboal. But… it´s not the coral you want from this site it’s the shoals of Sardines that reside here. When you're in the middle of one you really feel like you are one of them. Nudibranchs are sometimes seen in “groups” and on the surface you can sometimes see Dolphins.
